Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
The short version
- Tacky is for small, private boards. Only the people on a board can see what’s stuck on it.
- We don’t show ads in Tacky and we don’t sell your data.
- Ad measurement is optional. Only if you allow it, we use AppsFlyer to learn which of our ads and invites bring people to Tacky. Your photos, boards and messages are never part of it.
- Sticker images are deleted from our servers a few days after a sticker falls off.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time, and your data goes with it.
1. Who we are
Tacky is made by Horus Teknoloji ve Dijital Hizmetler A.Ş. (“Horus Studios”, “we”, “us”), a company based in Türkiye. We are responsible for the personal data processed through the Tacky app, its home screen widget and tackyapp.com (together, “Tacky”).
Questions or requests about your privacy: dev@horusstudios.com.
2. What we collect
When you sign in
Tacky uses Sign in with Apple. Apple shares with us a unique identifier for your Apple Account and an email address. You can choose to hide your real email, in which case Apple gives us a private relay address. If you choose to share your name, we use it only to suggest a display name. We never see your Apple Account password.
Your profile
Your display name, your handle, and the emoji and color you pick for your avatar.
Boards and stickers
- The boards you create or join: board names, the wall style, who is a member, and invite codes.
- The stickers you stick: photos you take or choose (including cut-outs), drawings and text, plus where each sticker sits on the board and when it was stuck.
- Which stickers you press to keep them up longer.
Safety
The people you block, and the stickers you report along with the reason you choose. When you report a sticker, we email the report to our team so a person can review it. The email includes the reason, the display names and handles of you and the person who stuck it, the board’s name, and the sticker itself (a link to the image that expires after 7 days, or the drawing).
Notifications and widgets
If you allow notifications, we store push tokens for the app and the widget. These are device addresses that Apple’s push service needs to deliver notifications and widget updates. They don’t identify you outside Tacky.
Ad measurement (only if you allow it)
The first time you use Tacky, we ask whether you want to help us measure our ads. If you tap “Allow”, the app starts AppsFlyer, a mobile measurement service, and iOS then asks whether Tacky may track you. If you choose “Not Now”, AppsFlyer isn’t started and none of the following is collected in the app.
With your permission, AppsFlyer receives:
- Device information: an AppsFlyer ID created for this installation of Tacky, Apple’s identifier for vendors, your IP address, device model, iOS and app version, language and time zone.
- Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you also allow tracking in the iOS prompt.
- How you found Tacky: whether you installed Tacky after tapping an ad or an invite link, and when you open the app.
- Actions in Tacky: signing in, finishing the tutorial, setting up your profile, creating or joining a board, sharing or opening an invite (only whether you shared, copied, pasted or tapped it), sticking a sticker (only its type, such as photo or drawing), pressing a sticker, adding the widget, your answer to the notification prompt, and when someone joins a board you invited them to.
- Your Tacky account ID, a random identifier, so these actions can be counted per person across your devices.
We never send AppsFlyer your name, handle, email, board names, photos, drawings or text.
Invite pages
If you open an invite link on a phone that doesn’t have Tacky yet and tap the button to get the app, that button is an AppsFlyer link. It carries the invite code so that Tacky can open the invite for you after you install it. AppsFlyer records that tap together with your IP address and browser information. If you don’t allow ad measurement in the app, Tacky won’t pick up the invite automatically, and you can enter the code by hand.
Security records
To keep Tacky working and to prevent abuse, we keep short-lived records such as how many stickers or images you uploaded recently and failed attempts to use invite codes. Our hosting providers also process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs when your device connects to our servers.
Camera and photos
Tacky uses your camera only while you are taking a photo in the app. When you choose a photo from your library, iOS gives Tacky only the photo you pick. Nothing is uploaded until you stick it on a board.
What we don’t collect
Apart from the optional ad measurement above, we don’t use advertising or analytics services. We don’t access your contacts, and we don’t collect your location.
3. What stays on your phone
Some things never leave your device: the daily snapshots of your boards, a copy of your boards that the widget reads, which boards you have already looked at, and your ad measurement choice. Signing out or deleting the app removes them.
4. How we use your information
- To run Tacky: create your account, show your boards to their members, keep stickers in sync between the app and widgets, and send the notifications you allowed.
- To keep people safe: hide people you block, review reports, remove content that breaks our Terms of Use, and limit abuse such as spam or guessing invite codes.
- To keep Tacky secure and reliable: protect accounts, investigate problems and fix bugs.
- To measure our marketing, only with your permission: learn which ads, campaigns and invites bring people to Tacky and whether they start using it, so we can spend less on ads that don’t work.
- To talk to you: answer your messages and let you know about important changes.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the EU and UK GDPR or Türkiye’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data), we rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping Tacky safe and secure, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent for ad measurement, notifications and camera access. For the invite page button, we rely on our legitimate interest in opening the invite you were sent after you install Tacky. You can withdraw consent at any time, as described in section 9.
5. Who can see what
- Board members see the board, its members’ profiles, and every sticker on it.
- Anyone with a board’s invite link can see the board’s name and its members’ display names, emoji and colors before joining. Share invite links only with people you want on the board. The board’s owner can reset the link or remove people.
- People you block and you can no longer see each other’s stickers.
- There is no public profile or feed. Your handle is visible to people who share a board with you.
- We may look at a reported sticker and related information to review the report.
Friends on your board can take screenshots, so only stick things you’re comfortable sharing with them.
6. Service providers and advertising partners
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- Supabase hosts our database, accounts, image storage, live updates and server functions.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications and widget updates.
- Cloudflare hosts tackyapp.com and serves invite links.
- Resend delivers report emails to our team.
- AppsFlyer provides ad measurement and invite links, if you allow ad measurement. Our servers also tell AppsFlyer when someone joins a board you invited them to, and ask it to erase your data when you delete your account.
Advertising partners. If you installed Tacky after seeing one of our ads, for example on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) or TikTok, and you allowed both ad measurement and tracking, AppsFlyer tells that ad platform that its ad led to an install or to actions in Tacky listed in section 2. The platforms use this to report on and improve our campaigns, under their own privacy policies. If you don’t allow tracking, Apple’s SKAdNetwork can still report to ad platforms that an ad led to an install, without identifying you or your device.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- Stickers stay on a board for 24 to 48 hours. We delete sticker images from our servers within a few days after a sticker falls off or is removed. Images of stickers with an open report are kept until the report is reviewed.
- Other board information, such as board names, memberships and sticker details without images, is kept while the board exists. When you leave a board, your stickers on it are deleted.
- Security records, such as invite code attempts and notification delivery jobs, are deleted within a day.
- Ad measurement data. AppsFlyer keeps measurement data for a limited time under its data retention rules. When you turn ad measurement off or sign out, we delete your device’s AppsFlyer ID from our servers and stop sending events. When you delete your account, we also ask AppsFlyer to erase the data linked to your devices.
- Your account. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, the boards you own, your memberships, stickers, presses, blocks and reports right away. Copies may remain in our providers’ backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
9. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account.
- Turn ad measurement on or off in the app under Settings → Ad Measurement, and turn tracking off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Turn notifications, camera or photo access on or off in iOS Settings.
- Block people, and review who you blocked under Settings → Blocked People.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email dev@horusstudios.com. We may need to confirm the request comes from you. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) in Türkiye or the supervisory authority where you live in the EU or UK.
10. Children
Tacky is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are under the age required to consent to data processing where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian to use Tacky. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to boards and images is limited by rules on our servers so that only members can read them, and images are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app before they take effect.
